Finally released here for the first time on CD, “Presents Princess” makes available the early recorded output the radical Oakland, CA band Battleship. Originally released in far-too-few hand screened LP’s in 2004 by Raw Deluxe Records, On/On Switch is very exited to bring this monster back life for a larger audience.

For the unitiated, Battleship has been tearing up the Bay Area and beyond for a few years now. Their frothy brew of Black Label Flag vs Birthday Party Cake, post-everything-core delights and terrifies most who witness it. Throbbing rhythm section of Gene “Bean” Bae on bass and Joe Haener on drums (now Drew Eastman), asylum-style vocals of Aleks, and the fuzz-drill of guitarist Daniel Martens self-destruct into “the modern day, quintessential West Coast Punk experience.” (The Portland Mercury) Ably recorded in Oakland by Greg Ashly (GrisGris, Mirrors) and mastered by Weasel Walter (Flying Luttenbachers etc). This disc also includes a video by Tack (Mousearmy.net) of the band performing live at the old Balazo gallery in SF.
